Show in Pidgin what you’re listening on Spotify

Because of a comment we received from Silverwolf, in which he asked us, how to show what you are listening on Spotify, we started a research... and we found a plugin to get it done in Pidgin... (we are still looking for a solution to show what you're listening to on emesene)

Record calls and conversations in Skype

Surfing around in the  www we found a little program called Skype Call Recorder that makes it possible to record the conversations we are having with Skype... a really helpful and easygoing software.

We can choose the file type the conversations are saved in (OGG, MP3, WAV), the quality of the recording and the folder the files are saved in. We also can configure the software to start recording automatically our calls.

Error running emesene and amarok on Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty

You've had enough of the warning "getStatus: Can't import dcopext or python-dcop!"? And really don't want to see it again? There is no error that can't be fixed... Just open your command shell and enter the following command:

sudo apt-get install python-kde3

Than restart amarok and emesene, and you'll be ready to show what you're listening to.

Manage and operate Ubuntu by remote administration via Web

Today we're going to talk once again about an old known and wide topic:  remote administration. Which, fortunately, is well-developed for GNU/Linux. Though there are several ways to achieving the remote administration on a Ubuntu running computer, such as Secure Shell (SSH) or remote desktop softwares (VINO or VNC, FreeNX), we're really into Webmin, a remote administration software based on the world wide Web, and thats what we are going to talk in this post about.
